Gordon-Brown

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown (pictured above, in demented mood), yet again adopting his “save the planet” mode, has condemned “flat-earth climate change sceptics” and “climate deniers” who he says have tried to derail the Copenhagen summit by casting doubt on the evidence for global warming. Sceptics in the UK and the US have moved to capitalise on a series of hacked emails from climate change scientists at the University of East Anglia, claiming they show attempts to hide information that does not support the case for human activity causing rising temperatures. And his hand-wringing sidekick, Climate Change Minister Ed Miliband, gave his most damning assessment of the sceptics yet, describing them as “dangerous and deceitful”.

Quite incredible that Gordon Brown can have the nerve to accuse anyone of being in denial after the mess he’s made of the UK in his short time as PM. And as for a New Labour minister like Ed Miliband to cite anyone as “dangerous and deceitful”, well such a statement would be laughable if it wasn’t so contemptible. These blokes don’t give a toss about the planet – all they want is a great big excuse to raise taxes. Because if they really cared, they wouldn’t have sanctioned the building of new coal-fired power stations earlier this year and they wouldn’t raise CO2 emissions by flying all over the place to useless junkets. But in the interests of political correctness, we can be sure it won’t be long before “Climate denial” is on a par with “Holocaust denial” as a criminal offence, a situation which will give every jumped up little eco-fascist free licence to make all our lives a bloody misery.

 abdul

And yet more climate change alarmist nonsense. This time it’s been claimed that up to 20 million Bangladeshis may be forced to leave their country in the next 40 years because of climate change, one of the country’s most senior politicians has said. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith (pictured above), Bangladesh’s finance minister, called on Britain and other wealthy countries to accept millions of displaced people. In a clear signal to the US and Europe that developing countries are not prepared to accept a weak deal at next week’s Copenhagen climate summit, Abdul Muhith said Bangladesh wanted hosts for managed migration as people began to abandon flooded and storm-damaged coastal areas. “20 million people could be displaced in Bangladesh by the middle of the century,” he claimed. “We are asking all our development partners to honour the natural right of persons to migrate” . I don’t suppose it ever occured to this clown to consider this : Bangladesh is a predominantly Islamic country, with 90% of the population Muslims. If he wants places for these people to go, why doesn’t he ask some of his oil rich Muslim neighbours to take them in instead of arrogantly expecting us to pay for future welfare benefits and social division ? Mind you, I suppose if Gordon Brown thinks they’ll all vote Labour, he’ll have them NOW.

 Amanda-Knox

The family of American Amanda Knox (pictured above), found guilty of murdering British student Meredith Kercher, have vowed to appeal against her conviction, which they described as a “failure of the Italian judicial system”. Last night in Perugia, Italy, 22-year-old Knox was jailed for 26 years for killing the 21-year-old, along with her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 25, who was sentenced to 25 years. Ms Kercher’s brother Lyle said he was “pleased with the decision”, but the family were not surprised Knox’s parents would immediately begin the process of trying to overturn the verdict. Curt Knox and Edda Mellas said in a statement today: “Amanda is innocent and we will continue to fight for her freedom.” Well maybe she is innocent, maybe she isn’t – but before they get too hung up on victimhood they might remember that there was a murder victim called Meredith – and maybe they should advise Ms Knox not to be doing cartwheels and posing on YouTube with machine guns before she commences her appeal.

The Tiger Woods story rumbles on. The world’s no.1 golfer (pictured above right) is facing lurid claims that he took prescription drugs to boost his sex life with one of his alleged mistresses. Rachel Uchitel (pictured above left), has reportedly told friends that she and Woods took the sleeping pill Ambien before having sex. “You know you have crazier sex on Ambien – you get into that Ambien haze,” she is apparently quoted as saying. Now I’m no expert on Ambien, but I reckon that for most blokes, if they were faced with the prospect of sharing a bed with Ms. Uchitel, I’m not sure that the first thing they’d think of doing would be to take a sleeping pill !
